Trader Joe's

I went to Trader Joe's this morning for a lot of "specialty" items. When my mom gets off work, we're going to the grocery store for everything else. I thought it might be helpful for all those planning to do or interested in the cleanse, to see what I bought.

Produce: Asian stir fry vegetables, shredded red cabbage, shredded carrots, lemons, asparagus, bell peppers, raspberries, blueberries, and extra firm tofu.

Pantry: brown rice pasta (spaghetti & fusilli), lentil rice biryani, black beans, refried pinto beans, red kidney beans, white kidney beans, roasted red peppers, vegan black bean soup, vegan split pea soup, light coconut milk, canned tomatoes, and ground cumin.

Misc: peanut butter panda puffs (gluten free), gluten free waffle & pancake mix, raw almonds, raw cashews, walnuts, orange spice rooibos tea, unsweetened soy milk, agave nectar, black bean & corn enchiladas (gluten & dairy free), and mango-vanilla soy ice cream.

I love having a stocked kitchen. It makes me excited to cook!

I'm meeting my trainer at 2 so I had a light snack to fuel my workout. A smoothie made with blueberry soy yogurt, banana, and a few mixed berries. It was the perfect consistency today, no chunks!

Looks like a successful trip to TJ's, and a delicious pre-workout smoothie!

Karen- In the first picture, I'm in the black dress. The second picture I'm in the yellow dress. I'm not in the rest of them. Sorry for the confusion!!

Good luck with your cleanse, it sounds doable to me except the added sugar part because it seems like almost everything has added sugar or high fructose corn syrup, like my bread for instance, it contains sugar which I eat since I assume it's better than high fructose corn syrup. So frustrating! What kind of bread do you use?

Ashley, The no added sugar part IS very hard. I'm trying to avoid buying products based on that but i can only find soy yogurt that is sweetened. I'm not going to be strict on this because otherwise, I'll never make it through the cleanse. I figure cutting most of it out is a good start.

Also, I am not eating bread right now because I can't eat gluten on this cleanse. I might end up buying gluten free bread that does not contain added sugar. If I do find some I'll let you know!

Yeah, that seems soo hard, but that's awesome that you're trying it and that it's working for you so far!
