Still a Very Tired Girl

Ah, another busy afternoon that flew by!

Recap:

I had planned a healthy, fresh lunch consisting of a hummus sandwich and pear. Instead, I went out to lunch with my coworkers to celebrate one of their birthdays. Vietnamese food isn't my favorite but I felt bad turning down the invite so I went along.

We ended up ordering a bunch of food for the table to share. I don't really know the names of the dishes but there was a little of everything: egg rolls, spring rolls, egg drop soup, beef lo mein, garlic beef, spicy chicken, sesame shrimp, sweet and sour chicken and pork, and some other similar things. Although a lot of the dishes contained meat, for the most part they were served with fresh vegetables. I filled my plate with as many vegetables as possible but I did have samples of most dishes except for the pork. The spicy chicken was really good. I usually don't like egg rolls but this place is known for theirs so I tried one. It was good as far as egg rolls go. Overall, not the healthiest lunch but I think I handled myself fairly well. I'm glad I went because they are a fun group of people. Most of them are in their 20s so it's a young, energetic office. I'm actually going to miss working there once they hire a new receptionist.

Lunch left me full for hours, but around 4:30 I was feeling like I needed an energy burst so I had the other half of the Lara bar from earlier in the week.

I really liked this bar. I need to pick up more at the store.

I skipped the gym this afternoon. I felt guilty but I had no energy to go there after work. I have no idea why I was so tired today. When I got home I was hungry again so I ate a pear.

Then, I decided to bake chocolate and peanut butter chip cookies to bring into work tomorrow.

Combined with the bowl licking and sampling the freshly baked cookies, I had no appetite for dinner. I knew I needed to eat something other than cookies so I just had a small salad. My mom made this delicious salad by slicing strawberries and tossing them with spinach and a pear champagne dressing from Trader Joe's.

Time for bed, tomorrow is Friday so I'm not complaining. Hopefully tomorrow, I will have more interesting things to report. Night ya'll.

The Vietnamese food sounds good, and it sounds like you did indeed have another busy day.

Love the Cashew Cookie Larabar flavor - pick up more, for sure! :0)

Don't feel guilty about skipping the gym - you definitely sound like you needed the break!

Chocolate-Peanut-Butter cookies = pure bliss.

TGIF!
