Sunny Sunday

I hope everyone has been having a great weekend. My weekend was going pretty well until last night. Weather-wise we have been having nice spring weather. It's been sunny but chilly in the 50's. As long as it's not raining or snowing, I won't complain! Monica-wise the weekend hasn't been so great thanks to stomach flu. Last night, I spent half of the night in the bathroom, feeling like I was going to die. This morning I am feeling better. I was able to stomach a bowl of oatbran with cranberries and half of a banana. I was a little nervous that it might be too heavy but it was what I was craving. I am hoping I continue to feel better because I have a long run scheduled this afternoon.

Recap of the weekend:

Friday night, I went to dinner with my best friend to catch up. I ordered a glass of wine and the Margherita Pizza. It had a lot of cheese on it but I still ate half of it because it tasted so good. After dinner we saw Made of Honor. I thought the movie was funny and cute. A typical chick-flick, but hey I'm a chick so of course I liked it! I came home straight to bed since it was already after midnight.

Saturday morning I had another bridal shower. This time it was a brunch. The food was great but way too heavy for my stomach. Egg and cheese casserole, Praline French toast (Paula Deen's recipe so you know it's loaded with butter and heavy cream), and fresh fruit. The french toast was amazing BUT this confirms my sensitivity to butter. I had the worst stomach pains after eating. This may have been the source of last night's sickness.

The rest of Saturday, I did some shopping. My boyfriend gave me a gift card for Best Buy as part of my Christmas gift so I finally decided to use it. I bought Breakfast at Tiffany's and 27 Dresses.

Then I went to Border's and bought 2 books. I was planning on buying a birthday present for my friend, but instead bought Eat, Pray, Love and How to Pick a Peach for myself. Oops, bookstores are my weakness ;)

I also stopped at Trader Joe's on the way home.

I got:
  • Brown sugar
  • Walnuts
  • Dried Cranberries
  • Fire-roasted tomato salsa
  • Organic pea soup & vegetarian chili (for quick lunches)
  • Earth Balance (for butter-free baking)
  • Chocolate Chip Z bars
  • New bars to try: Lara Bar, Clif Nectar, Luna Teacakes
Last night, I stayed-in with the family since I wasn't feeling that great. I was going to watch a movie with my mom but she was doing laundry so I decided to spring clean my closet and get rid of unnecessary clothing. I also "unpacked" warmer weather clothes. My closet is more organized and looks much better now. However, I had to take over half of my brother's closet since I can't put away my winter stuff yet. He won't be home until mid-summer anyway so I figure by then the winter stuff will be packed away.

This morning, I've been catching up on blogs and enjoying the birds chirping. The day is too nice to be spent indoors. I'm anxious for my run.

Brody has been enjoying the sunny morning as well.
